On the morning of March 6th, a delegation from Swansea University of the U.K. led by Dr. James Holness, head of International Development Office, visited GZU and discussed cooperative projects with GZU counterparts.
Vice President Zhang Qin held a talk with the delegation. Other participants of the talk were key personnel from Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Admissions and Employment, Department of Finance, Office of International Relations, College of Civil Engineering, College of Electrical Engineering, College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Materials and Metallurgy, and Space Structure Research Center.
Zhang Qin extended warm welcome to Dr. James Holness and the delegation for their second visit to GZU. She stressed that GZU heeds the advancement of internationalization and puts joint education programs on top of its cooperation agenda. She hopes that Dr. James Holness and his delegation will help facilitate further negotiations on specific cooperative projects in order to speed up the application process.
Dr. James Holness expressed a shared intention for further cooperation. He noted that both universities have been working very diligently towards the cooperation since the talks held at GZU last November. Following discussion of the joint projects, he expressed hope that the cooperation in engineering majors will bring greater outcomes.
After the two universities discussed relevant issues about enrollment scale, cooperation mode, and curriculum design, a preliminary joint education program has taken shape.
