GZU and Guizhou Education University Sign a Cooperation Agreement for Further Discipline Construction

On June 10th, leaders of Guizhou Education University (GZEU) including Shi Peixin, the Secretary of the Party Committee; and Yu Zhongming, the President, visited GZU. Other delegates from GZEU included Yu Weixiang, Yan Su, Xiao Zhenmeng, Wu Weidong, and Xiong Shihuan. Linghu Caitao presided over a welcome meeting held in Xianzheng Building No. 1 Room 311. A number of GZU leaders including Li Jianjun, Song Bao’an, Linghu Caitao, Tang Benwen, Xiang Shuwen, and Deng Chaoyong attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Linghu Caitao briefly introduced GZU.

The leaders from the Graduate School of GZU introduced work related to discipline construction and postgraduate programs.

On behalf of the two universities, Deng Chaoyong, Vice President of GZU; and Xiong Shihuan, Vice President of GZNU, signed a cooperation agreement for further developing academic disciplines. The two universities will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of materials science and engineering, chemistry, and physics. Making most of their strengths, they will strive to build a solid academic team. The agreement will be from June 2019 to May 2024.  

At the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the management of the faculty and the application procedures for the authorization to confer master's degrees.

Shi Peixin expressed his gratitude toward GZU for its support and help over the years. He noted that the talk between the two universities shed light on their future development. He hopes that GZU will be able to share more experience with GZEU concerning master’s degree authorization in first-level disciplines.

Li Jianjun, Secretary of GZU Party Committee, also gave a speech. He noted that the two universities enjoy a long history of progress and each boasts their unique merits. On the basis of previous collaborative achievements, GZU will make every effort to support GZEU regarding matters related to the authorization of master's degrees in GZEU. Additionally, GZU will implement agreements and strengthen cooperation in a wider range of areas.

Also present at the meeting were key GZU personnel from various sectors including the University Office of GZU, Publicity Department of the Party Committee, Department of Human Resources, Graduate School, Institute of Science and Technology, College of Materials and Metallurgy, and Centre of Fine Chemical Research and Development.
