On December 1st, the opening ceremony of "Xinyuan Cup”, an electronic design competition for college students in Guizhou Province, was held in Xishan Theater. It was hosted by the Academic Affairs Office of Guizhou University and organized by the College of Electrical Engineering.

The opening ceremony was attended by Linghu Caitao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of GZU, Xiang Song, director of the Academic Affairs Office, some colleges leaders, and over 300 representatives from the competition committee and teams. It was presided over by Liu Min, vice president of College of Electrical Engineering.

Linghu Caitao delivered a speech at the ceremony. She noted that the electronic design competition is of great significance for cultivating students' comprehensive practical ability, innovation and entrepreneurship. Over the years, Guizhou University has been actively participating in the national electronic design competition for college students and achieved good results, forming a mechanism in which competition can promote teaching, learning and researching. She wished the student competitors could give full play to their intelligence and wisdom, showcase their ability and achieve desired results.

After the speech, Li Yingfei read out the competition rules and some details about competition arrangement, registration and evaluation and Zhang Jing introduced the eight college teams participating the competition. In the end, Xiang Song declared the opening of the competition.
