On July 7th, Guizhou Province Integrity Education Competition Final and Awards Ceremony were held in the Chongshi Building on the west campus of Guizhou University. Guizhou University achieved first place with the highest total score and won the first prize, as well as the organization award and the best photography award for short videos in stage drama competition of 2023 Guizhou Province Integrity Education Activity named “Integrity Nurtures Virtue, Trust Shapes Character”.
Zhu Qin, second-level counsel of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, Deng Hao, Party committee member and vice president of Guizhou Central Branch of People's Bank of China, Ai Lei, Party committee member and vice president of Guizhou Provincial Branch of China Development Bank, and Chen Xiangsheng, vice president of Guizhou University attended the meeting for the competition. Attendees also included officials from Guizhou Provincial Student Financial Aid Management Office, Guizhou Central Branch of People's Bank of China, Guizhou Provincial Branch of China Development Bank, and student financial aid management centers of universities in Guizhou Province.
Zhu Qin pointed out that integrity education is a key part in national student loan program and plays a crucial role in “cultivate virtue and mold character” in universities. It is also an important means for cultivating the core socialist values among college students. Guizhou Province attaches great importance to integrity education for college students. Since 2012, the Provincial Department of Education, together with People's Bank of China and China Development Bank, hasmade joint efforts to innovate integrity education, enrich integrity education activities, and organize college students throughout the province to conduct a series of themed activities for integrity education every year, which achieved good results. She emphasized that universities should attach great importance to students’ financial aid and strive to achieve the following points. First, maximize the educational impact of financial aid. Second, intensify the publicity of students’ financial aid policies. Third, enhance the awareness of financial aid services. Fourth, care for students from financially difficult families, further enhance financial aid in nurturing talents, and integrate financial aid with talent cultivation to promote the development of national student loans program.
Chen Xiangsheng pointed out that universities in Guizhou Province have carried out a series of integrity education activities with the theme of “Cultivate Virtue with Integrity and Forge Character with Trust” in accordance with the requirements of the Provincial Department of Education and other departments. Guizhou University attaches great importance to the requirements. It makes careful preparations and actively participates to the activities to improve the effectiveness of integrity education. GZU has carefully selected excellent works to participate in the competition which provided a platform for colleges and universities to exchange and learn from each other in carrying out integrity education. It is hoped that through this themed activity of integrity education, students will establish a life motto of honesty and trustworthiness which will contribute to the sustained and healthy development of national student loan programs in universities, and ensure its effectiveness in talent cultivation.
Ai Lei believed that student aid loans enable students to feel the care and love of the Party and the state while cultivating their awareness of self-reliance and self-improvement. It also helps to cultivate in students a sense of responsibility and dedication to their families, society, and the country. It is hoped that beneficiary students can be honest and trustworthy to jointly promote the construction of an integrity campus and an integrity society.
Deng Hao stated that construction of an integrity society is a systematic project that requires joint efforts and promotion of all sectors of society. Guizhou Central Branch of People's Bank of China will actively promote the construction of Guizhou credit reporting system, andpositive progress in the credit reporting market, improve the credit reporting service, and contribute to the construction of an integrity society.
Since April, universities across the province have carried out various integrity education activities on the theme of “Cultivate Virtue with Integrity and Forge Character with Trust” in accordance with their own circumstances. A total of 60 stage dramas and 55 creative short videos from various universities took part in this competition.
