On September 1st, GZU welcomed and hosted an interactive talk with the Philippines' Higher Education Commission and its University Delegation at the Academy of Chinese Culture on the east campus. The meeting was attended by esteemed individuals including Lily Freida M. Milla, Deputy Executive Director of the Islamic Conference Organization and Chief Administrative Assistant of the Philippine Higher Education Commission; Dr. Shirley Agrupis, President of Mariano Marcos State University; Zhang Dalin, Vice President of GZU; as well as other distinguished visitors from the Commission and the Delegation. Other participants included coordinators from Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Guiyang College of Humanities and Sciences, department heads of GZU, and teacher and student representatives of GZU.
During the meeting, Zhang Dalin warmly welcomed the visitors and provided a brief introduction to GZU, highlighting its history, academic programs, and educational philosophy. He drew attention to GZU's active involvement in "China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week" projects since 2008, with over 100 organized or co-organized projects that have strengthened ties between both sides. Zhang expressed optimism that this visit would facilitate in-depth communication and further enhance educational exchanges.
Lily Freida M. Milla and Shirley Agrupis expressed confidence in deeper cooperation with GZU, specifically in the areas of language education, teaching quality, and scientific research. These collaborative projects aim to enhance cooperation between higher education institutions and drive educational endeavors forward.
Meanwhile, Ning Mei, the Dean of the International Education College, delivered a comprehensive speech on GZU's international education initiatives, academic programs, international Chinese studies, and international student programs. Following the presentations, both sides engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanged perspectives. Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to explore some notable facilities on campus, including the Chinese Academy of Culture, History Museum, and the National University Science Park.
