On September 5th, a meeting to promote national talent cultivation and the construction of first-class disciplines was held at Guizhou University. Academician Song Bao’an, President of Guizhou University, Linghu Caitao, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, and Vice Presidents Qi Si, Zhang Dalin, and Li Fei attended the meeting.

The meeting stressed that striving for excellence in nurturing and attracting talents is crucial for the high-quality development of Guizhou University. To achieve this goal, the following measures need to be implemented. First, it is essential to make good use of existing resources and take advantage of supportive policies from cooperative institutions, making proactive moves in national-level talent recruitment. Second, we should strengthen team consciousness and foster a “team-based” environment to accelerate the growth of talents, and shift the talent recruitment approach from “addition” to “integration”. Third, strict standards and requirements must be maintained in talent recruitment to ensure that the recruited talents can effectively serve the development of Guizhou University.

The meeting also discussed the revision of the “Guidelines for the Recruitment and Management of Specialized Talents in First-Class Disciplines at Guizhou University” and the “Implementation Rules for the Assessment of Specialized Talents in First-Class Disciplines at Guizhou University”.Heads from relevant departments reported on the progress of national-level talent cultivation.
