On September 8th, Guizhou University hosted the 2023 Teachers' Day Recognition Ceremony, honoring outstanding collectives and individuals. The event which included three parts: “Foster Enlightenment”, “Baton Passing” and “Aiming for Excellence” aims to inspire all teachers of Guizhou University to adhere to their original aspiration and remember their mission of nurturing talents for the Party and the nation.
Li Jianjun, Secretary of the University Party Committee, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the honored teachers and expressed festive blessings and good wishes to all faculty and staff. He also conveyed his appreciation and respect to the retired veteran teachers who have made significant contributions to the University. Li highlighted that the University is currently making great strides in building a high-quality, professional and innovative faculty team. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the teachers, the foundation for making Guizhou University a strong and prestigious institution is being established, and its contribution to the “Four-Pronged New Vision” and “Four-front Development Initiative" is increasingly prominent.
Li stated that “Committed to Education, Empowering the Nation with My Contribution” not only serves as the theme of this year's Teachers' Day, but also represents the aspiration and ambition that all teachers should pursue. He stressed that those recognized would cherish their honor, and make further contributions. He urged all teachers to take the honored teachers as role models, fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and enhance their professional ethics and virtues. Centered around the theme of Teachers' Day, Li proposed three hopes. First, undertake the task of moral education to enhance the sense of honor in teaching and educating; Second, retain high-quality education development to increase university strength through talent cultivation; Third, hold on to the strategic goal of serving Guizhou's “Four-Pronged New Vision” and “Four-front Development Initiative" to serve the local community.
At the meeting, Luo Changjiang, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, announced the “2023 Teacher's Day Commendation Decision of Guizhou University”. Various awards were presented to outstanding educators and teams by notable figures of the University. Among the accolades were commendations for “excellent counselors”, “Young Teaching Talents”, “Teaching Excellence”, and awards named after notable entities and national-level recognitions.

At the conference, the senior teachers helped the new teacher representatives to put on the university badge. Zhang Hailing, renowned national-level actress, led all the teachers in the venue to take an oath for their professional ethics and conduct.
Wang Chengcheng, the teacher representative, delivered a speech at the event. She reflected on her journey from being a fresh Ph.D. graduate in 2018 to becoming a young teacher at Guizhou University. As both a university teacher and researcher, she expressed her commitment to turning her classroom and research platform into a vast stage to showcase talent and continuously strive for excellence. She aims to live up to the university's expectations and contribute to the high-quality development of Guizhou's economy.
During the event, students presented their beloved teachers with flowers and blessings. A poetic performance titled “Striving Forward in Guizhou University, Teachers' Grace Shines Brightly” passionately praised the hardworking and dedicated teachers and showcased the diligent efforts and achievements of all teachers at Guizhou University. The ceremony came to a heartwarming conclusion with the choruses of“Teacher, I Miss You” and “Guizhou University Anthem”.
